Nestled in the Valley of Forgue in the Scottish Highlands, GlenDronach has been producing richly sherried single malts since 1826 — a distillery where tradition is never rushed and every drop is shaped by time and exceptional casks.
GlenDronach is not just a whisky — it is one of Scotland's most revered distilleries, renowned worldwide for its signature sherry cask maturation and traditional Highland methods.
Founded by James Allardice in 1826, GlenDronach was among the first licensed distilleries in Scotland. For nearly two centuries, it has remained true to its founding principles: wooden washbacks, direct-fired stills, and — most importantly — maturation exclusively in the finest Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain.
This unwavering commitment to sherry cask maturation gives GlenDronach its distinctive character — richly coloured, deeply flavoured single malts bursting with notes of dark fruits, chocolate, spice and a warmth that lingers long after the last sip.
Today, under the stewardship of Master Blender Rachel Barrie, GlenDronach continues to set the benchmark for sherried Highland single malts — from the iconic 15YO to the extraordinary 21YO and the innovative Ode series.

Andalucian Sherry Casks
Every GlenDronach expression is matured exclusively in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks hand-selected from the bodegas of Jerez, Spain. These casks impart rich notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate and spice that define the distillery's signature style.
Traditional Highland Methods
GlenDronach stays true to 19th-century whisky-making: Oregon pine wooden washbacks for long, cool fermentations and direct-fired stills that produce a robust, full-bodied spirit capable of standing up to the richest sherry casks.
Unhurried Maturation
Time is the quietest ingredient. At GlenDronach, nothing is rushed — from the 15-year-old Revival to the 21-year-old Parliament, each expression spends years resting in traditional dunnage warehouses in the Valley of Forgue, drawing depth and character from every season.
